The second annual Indie Game Challenge is now taking submissions for 2011. Enter your game/idea for a chance to win $100,000 and the opportunity to pitch your idea to major publishers. There are seperate categories for professional and non-professional developers.

"The Indie Game Challenge is a game design competition that supports the independent games movement by providing game developers with the rare opportunity to showcase their skills and catapult their careers to the next level.

Presented by the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS), GameStop and The Guildhall at Southern Methodist University, the competition offers almost $350,000 in prize monies and scholarships, including a $100,000 grand prize for both the winning professional and non-professional games, and a life-changing opportunity. Finalists will also receive national exposure and be eligible for additional prize money by having their pitch videos posted on GameStop.com and GameStop TV for People’s Choice Award voting.

Professional and non-professional individuals or teams are asked to submit game betas and game pitch videos by Oct. 1, 2010. Up to 12 finalist teams will be announced in January, and each finalist team will receive $500 per person towards travel costs for 5 team members to an awards reception Feb. 12, 2011, at the Red Rock Casino Resort Spa in Las Vegas following AIAS’s D.I.C.E. Summit. Each finalist team will also receive the opportunity to pitch their game ideas to executives from Sony, Nintendo, Electronic Arts, Capcom, Microsoft, NAMCO/Bandai, THQ and Ubisoft, giving them an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
